Human Factors

It is sometimes shocking to experience IT's reticence to innovate. Even after years and years in the tech industry, I am still amazed at the paradox of fighting innovation in an inherently innovative industry. Tech survives and thrives through innovation and yet there appears to be almost a fear of it in IT. I wonder how we change the thought process. I think about why the irony exists. Possibly it's related to fiefdoms, possibly it's related to fear of change, possibly it's related to vendor relationships, possibly it's related to risk aversion, possibly it's related to apathy. Maybe it's all of the above. The major inflection point that we are experiencing in technology may in fact be the last opportunity for IT to re-invent itself.
